About Collegiate Water sports
Collegiate skiing is one of the fastest growing segments of the waterskiing world. These 3-Event spring and fall tournaments consist of trick/wakeboard, slalom and jump with 5 skiers per event for each team. Points are based on the number of tricks you can accomplish, the number of slalom passes you complete and the number of jumps you land. The team with the highest number of points has won that tournament/event.
Collegiate skiing is a great way to meet other people from your school as well as other schools in your region. What better way then to get more involved in the sport of waterskiing!!! The Michigan schools are part of the Great Lakes Conference of the Midwest Region. The Midwest Region is the largest and one of the most united and spirited. There’s so much excitement happening on the shore as it is on the water.
Collegiate Wakeboarding is also developing more and more. There are a few collegiate wakeboard tournaments available throughout the season. The tournaments consist of a women’s and a men’s division of Wakeboarding and Wakeskate seperated by each school.
