]]><![CDATA[2024 MWSA State Championships presented by S-Lines Update (and Friday Practice Tournament)]]>Thu, 18 Jul 2024 14:00:00 GMThttps://www.mwsa.org/news/2024-mwsa-state-championships-presented-by-s-lines-update-and-friday-practice-tournamentThe 2024 MWSA State Championships presented by S-Lines is coming up on July 26th, 27th, and 28th at Jepawhit! On Friday, there will be a Class C 1 round slalom tournament to allow skiers to get an additional slalom score for the weekend. On Saturday, we will start with slalom (Class C and L) at 8am followed by some trick skiing (Class C and L). On Sunday, we will finish our tricking and start the jump event (Class C only). There will only be one round of each event on Saturday and Sunday. Food trucks will be available all weekend long as we celebrate the amazing skiing happening in our state. Skiers who have their judges, drivers, or scorers rating will likely be asked to help the tournament run smoothly. Thank you in advance!

Recently a new Michigan House Bill has been proposed that would restrict towboat operation in certain conditions within our State.
The Michigan Water Ski Association is in full support of our boat dealerships and watersport enthusiasts in the unified opposition of House Bill 5532.  This is due to its potential impact on all towed water ski activities, and the possibility of further restrictions down the road.
